Oleg Polyanskiy

Oleg Polyanskiy is a versatile artist, who excels in most genres and has gained recognition for his abilities in classical, jazz, fusion and progressive rock. Polyanskiy was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine in 1980, and after completing his education in both classical and jazz piano at the conservatory, his brilliant virtuosity earned him several awards such as the third prize at the Donetsk Jazz competition of 2001.

In recent years Polyanskiy has toured around the world and developed a unique profile by composing tonally catchy works that draw inspiration from a wide range of styles. Polyanskiy is currently based in China, but by no means has he forgotten his Ukrainian roots. Due to the Russian invasion, the Ukranian Independence Day, August 24 was marked by sadness for many Ukrainians. On this day Polyanskiy presented a program in Sankt Lukas Church in Copenhagen that consisted exclusively of his own compositions. The concert was both a declaration of love for his home country and a testament to Polyanskiy’s never ending pursuit of music without boundaries.
